Elements of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is an old age Indian medicine method used for analysis and healing of numerous types of sickness since early days of our civilization. Ayurveda word is taken from the world’s oldest language Sanskrit.

It is a combination of two word ‘Ayus’ and ‘Veda’. ‘Ayus’ means longevity and ‘Veda’ means knowledge. That’s Ayurveda means the complete knowledge for long life.

In simple language Ayurveda is an aged Indian medicine science used for diagnosis and treatment of numerous diseases.  It has a long history, and is considered one of the oldest organized systems of medicine.

Its earliest concepts are set out in the sacred writings called the Vedas, one of the prestigious books of Hindus. According to Vedas Dhanvantari is known as the god of medicine.

Ayurveda is based on the below given five basic elements of the universe –

* Earth

* Water

* Fire

* Air

* Heaven

* Vision
